EU Battery Regulation for the electronics industry

Product by product: labelling, removability, the battery passport and due diligence.

Length: Half a dayFormats: In-house · Open course · WebinarFor: QA、R&D、Regulatory、Procurement

Objective

Let R&D, QA and regulatory teams for products containing batteries map their obligations under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 item by item, and separate what applies now from what depends on implementing acts.

Outline

  1. Scope and categories: portable, LMT, SLI, industrial and EV batteries; responsibilities of manufacturers of products incorporating batteries.
  2. Labelling and information: CE marking, separate-collection symbol, carbon footprint and QR code timelines.
  3. Removability and replaceability: Article 11 and its effect on consumer product design, with cases.
  4. Battery passport: data fields and responsibilities for LMT, industrial and EV batteries above 2 kWh.
  5. Due diligence (Article 48): the supply-chain due-diligence system applying from August 2027, third-party verification and the OECD guidance.
  6. Authorised representative and EPR: Article 40 and national battery EPR registration.

Outcome

The team can list the obligations, key dates and gaps for its own products, and knows which data to request from cell and module suppliers.
