01 Why Amsterdam
Three structural problems Asian manufacturers face
We see the same pattern at client after client. It is why ZC chose to set up a real company in Amsterdam rather than a representative office.
| Problem | What ZC does |
|---|---|
| 01 Information gap Regulation is written in the EU’s language and logic and changes often; internal teams struggle to judge what it means for their products and their role. | The Amsterdam team reads the legal text and official notices directly and turns them into Chinese-language documents and internal training. |
| 02 Time zones and distance Authority enquiries, notification systems and European customer requests mostly happen outside Taiwanese working hours; response speed affects shipments. | Taipei and Amsterdam split the work and cover both working days; authority contact and notification systems are handled from Amsterdam. |
| 03 EU-entity requirements Several regulations require an authorised representative or registered entity inside the EU; non-EU manufacturers cannot comply alone. | ZC is a Dutch B.V. and can act as the legal entity for authorised-representative and EPR registration. |
The name
1624 · Fort Zeelandia, Tainan
Fort Zeelandia was built by the Dutch East India Company from 1624 in what is now Tainan, one of the earliest points of contact between the Netherlands and Taiwan. We took the name because our work is the same bridge: European authorities and customers on one side, the factories and supply chains that must comply on the other.
ZC also stands for our method, from zero to compliance: Zero to Compliance.
